A Floor to Match the House

Epoxy flooring in Fox Chapel tends to be about finish quality. Wikipedia calls the borough the wealthiest suburb in Pennsylvania, with a 2015 median household income of $154,722. Homes are spread across 7.88 square miles with only 5,343 residents, which leaves room for large garages, carriage houses and finished lower levels.

Collector and showcase garages

Owners who keep classic or high-end cars often want the floor to be part of the display. Metallic epoxy gives a deep, flowing finish. A tight flake blend under a clear polyaspartic topcoat gives a cleaner, uniform look and better grip. We bring samples and can lay out borders, accent bands or a different color under a lift.

Estate-era concrete

The borough's character took shape early. The Pittsburgh Field Club moved here in 1915, the Fox Chapel Golf Club opened in 1919, and a private estate built in 1928 by steel industrialist James E. Lewis later became part of Shady Side Academy. Garages and outbuildings from those years have old, sometimes uneven concrete. Careful grinding and leveling come before any premium finish.

Stream valleys

Squaw Run and a branch of Pine Creek run through the borough. Lots that slope toward a stream can hold moisture in the soil. A beautiful finish is only as good as its bond, so the slab gets tested before we suggest metallic or flake, with a vapor-tolerant primer added if the readings call for it.

Lower levels and gyms

Finished basements, wine rooms and home gyms are common in larger homes. Epoxy can give those rooms a seamless, easy-clean floor, and a rubber mat area for weights sits fine on top. We explain how each product handles cold slabs and humidity before you choose.

Fox Chapel Questions

Does metallic epoxy suit a garage that holds collector cars?

It is a popular one. Metallic gives a deep, glossy look. For grip and durability, we add a clear topcoat and can include a fine texture.

Can you coat an older carriage house or outbuilding?

Usually, yes. Older concrete often needs leveling and patching first, which we include in the written estimate.

Do you do custom color layouts?

We can do accent bands, borders and different colors in different zones. We do not add brand logos.

Will a home gym floor hold up to dropped weights?

A thick epoxy works well, with rubber mats laid where the lifting happens. Bare coating alone can chip under heavy drops.
